On Running Marathon

I received a sad email regarding a colleague of ours who died in a marathon last July 4. Remus Fuentes died of multiple organ failures as result of heatstroke two days after he ran the 21K in the recent 34th Milo Marathon last Sunday, July 4, 2010. Based on the story that I have read, Remus was a healthy man and often joined marathon. The question is what happened? Are there lapses from the organizer?
